connection issues to a shoutcast server

For about a month now I've been having issues staying connected to a shoutcast server that I have, I pay $7.50 A month for it and for the longest time it worked just as it should. Recently though I started having connection issues...in fact I received an email saying that I connected to the port that it's on like 15 times in a 30 minute period. I use SPL to broadcast, and the sam encoders is the plugin I use to connect to the server. So, what I'm trying to figure out where the problem could be? Is this an issue with the sam encoders, is it an issue with SPL itself, or is there a problem between me and the server itself? I've done all kinds of traceroutes and things. By the way, I should also mention that when these connection problems occurr, it's gotten so bad that my IP address is blocked. While that happens I'm unable to listen to the station or visit it's website, or anything of the sort. We have to call Verizon, our ISP to get then to renew the lease on our IP address so that we can listen to the station again. I've stumped nearly all their techs. Most of them aren't familiar with internet radio, which is really surprising. If I can figure out why I've been disconnecting and reconnecting to the serveer so often I think it'd go a long long way to solving this. does anyone have any ideas as to why this might be happening? If I need to switch to a different shoutcast host, I can certainly do that.
Thanks guys...

sounds like you are loseing packages somehow chris, (which hi by the way its been ages.) but hmmm. with Verizon you should have a good connection there. can you use a d different port to broadcast on? this is server you are broadcasting on, not somebody you are listning too right?

It turns out that it was my broadcasting software, station playlist studio aparently did not like the fact that my music is on different drives. so now, what i'm doing is putting it all on one drive so it's all in one place and easy to get to. So since i've done that, i haven't had any problems....yet! hope it keeps working!

that's so weird! wonder why that was the case? and how would that make your connection go nutty anyays? Odd. wonder if its a bug someplace?
